In the Face of Overwhelming Odds: The Hirogen in "The Killing Game" fancied themselves the ultimate incarnation of tactical and physical prowess. As such, they compared themselves to the Nazis. Their cruelty did not end at the holodeck doors, however. Harry Kim is forced to endure the tyrannical reign of the Hirogen on Voyager, without the comfort of forgetting due to a quirk of technology like the rest of the crew.
From the Mouths of Babes: In an alternative future human kind has not evolved as benevolently as we have been led to believe. Nuclear war not only poisoned the atmosphere, a catastrophe which mankind struggled to overcome, but the minds and hearts of the survivors. An unfortunate victim of this new humanity is Harry Kim, a young Asian alone on a ship lost in the Delta Quadrant among people who consider him no better then a slave. However, circumstances beyond even fate's control may change his future.
The Time Constraints of Forever: "Message in a Bottle" brought back memories for the crew of Voyager, some happy, some sad, some unexplainable with words. For Ensign Kim the overshadowing trauma felt by his crewmates hid the emotional pain of his communiqué. When Janeway finds him on a lonely night, however, the contents of his message are revealed.
