Chapter 49: Screw!

Kevin Teague

Have you ever thought about the word screw? No, not just about the word screw...have you pondered the meaning of the word screw? The word screw is a good word. Since it is a good word, let's say it once or twice. Screw. Screw. Screw, screw, screw. That felt good, didn't it? Now, the definition of the word screw is a nail-shaped or rod-shaped metal piece with a winding groove used to fasten solid pieces together. That isn't the only definition of screw, but I will allow your imagination to come up with the rest of the definitions that aren't in the dictionary.

The amazing thing about the word screw is that it can be used in any grammatical sense in the English language. It can be a noun. (He picked up the screw.) It can be a verb. (They screwed the two pieces of wood together.) It can also be an adjective (screwy). One point on this last option though is that the word screw is normally followed by another word like ball. Joining them together we get screwball. The word screw can also be used as a gerund just by adding -ing to the end of it (screwing in the screw). The last thing that it can be is the whole sentence unto itself but I would use this one sparingly because it is mine and it can be taken in a number of odd ways. (SCREW!) These are the most commonly used forms of screw but I am sure that there are some I have missed. If you know that there is a form of screw that I have missed, you can probably contact Anisa or Roleo and tell them about my lack of knowledge, but if any word ever got back to me, you wouldn't like what would happen to you. So in short the word screw is the best word in the world and it is my word so DON'T USE IT!!!
