In the summer of 1999, Anisa Schardl and Kyra Davies started writing a book, Deviating from the Cultural Norm. That same month we learned how to make webpages. The product of said combination was this page, which was first hosted at the late server of the Paul Laurence Dunbar Math, Science and Technology Center. Several moves and layouts later, here we are.

We registered this domain in July 2002 at 23webmasters.com. deviating.org is now home not only to the book Deviating but (in the spirit of Deviating) a host of other random entities as well.

We accept hosting requests, and approve them within reason. We offer email addresses (POP3 or forwarding or both)--you@deviating.org.
